The Pulitzer Prizes were announced Monday afternoon. The winners in the book categories are:

FictionThe Goldfinch, by Donna Tartt (Little, Brown)
HistoryThe Internal Enemy: Slavery and War in Virginia, 1772-1832, by Alan Taylor (W.W. Norton)
BiographyMargaret Fuller: A New American Life, by Megan Marshall (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt)
General NonfictionToms River: A Story of Science and Salvation, by Dan Fagin, (Bantam Books)
Poetry3 Sections, by Vijay Seshadri (Graywolf Press)
DramaThe Flick, by Annie Baker

Both fiction finalists were also Publishers Lunch Buzz Books, The Son by Philipp Meyer and The Woman Who Lost Her Soul, by Bob Shacochis. Other finalists included Eric Schlosser’s Command and Control.
